Revealed: Wren Kitchens 2023’s Kitchen Design Trends

2023 is underway, and Wren Kitchens has revealed will be the biggest kitchen trends for 2023

  • Predicted trends include the colours that are going to be big in 2023, alongside changes to how we use technology in the kitchen and a focus on sustainability
  • The past 3 months saw a 200% rise in the searches for ‘2023 kitchen trends’ as people prepare for new year renovations

With the new year now in full swing, many of us will already be looking for ways to refresh our homes with an update and welcome the new year in style. As trends can come and go, it’s tricky to keep updated with which styles are popular for 2023.

New trends don’t necessarily require a whole kitchen refit and there are always ways to incorporate new trends without a complete overhaul.

Wren Kitchens has outlined their top seven kitchen trends they think are going to be huge in 2023 and may only require small changes to your kitchen.

 1. Organic Kitchen Materials

2023 will see a return of more natural and organic materials in the kitchen such as wood, stone, and marble. Whilst this will be seen mostly through cabinetry and work tops, accents of wood and marble can also be used on kitchen appliances, cutlery and tableware.

2. Smart Technology

We’ve all started to embrace smart technology in other rooms within our homes, from smart TV’s and speakers such the Amazon Alexa and Google Next. The kitchen is no exception to that, with products such as temperature-controlled wine fridges, to smart fridges that can inform you when you’re out of certain ingredients predicted to dominate 2023.

3. Natural and sage greens

No trends list would be complete without knowing what colours are going to be the most popular this year – with the popularity of subtle greens rising in 2022, there’s no doubt this is going to be a favourite in 2023.

Greens are perfect colours for all rooms in the home but will be especially popular for kitchens this year as they complement other trends such as organic materials, including marble and most shades of wood.

4. Eco-friendly materials

In recent years, many of us have started to take steps towards being more and more sustainable – so it’s unsurprising that this has also began to translate into our kitchen design choices. From bigger budget changes, such as reclaimed wood cabinets and surfaces, to smaller budget changes such as opting for more eco-based paints we are all looking to improve our carbon footprint where possible.

5. Statement lighting

A sometimes-overlooked aspect of kitchen design, lighting can perfectly help set the vibe and tone of your kitchen. 2023 will see a rise in popularity of statement lighting pieces, such as pendant lighting and even chandeliers.

Statement lighting can still be done on a budget, and larger, low hanging light fittings can help break up the space in open-plan kitchens.

6. All-White

The clean all-white aesthetic has long been popular with bloggers and the trend looks set to stay for 2023. Top this off with a sense of welcoming warmth desired by many now spending more time in their home and it’s no wonder this colour is seeing such a resurgence in popularity.

7. Mixed Metallics

Metallic materials have always been a staple of modern kitchen design, and the latest kitchen trends are set to continue this by encouraging homeowners to add a blend of muted but welcoming metals for splashbacks, cabinet materials, handles, and kitchen accessories.
